A request from the Cooperation Centre of Iranian Kurdistan Parties:

Don’t let the Iranian regime to take the life of another political prisoner!

Last week “The Supreme Court”, acknowledged the cruel and unjust death penalty against the Kurdish political prisoner Ramin Hossein Panahi.

Initially, the death penalty against Ramin Hossein Panahi was declared by the so called “Revolutionary Court” of the city of Sine (Sanandaj). This sentence was put on Ramin while he, during the whole interrogation process was wounded and under torture. The so called court which was orchestrated for his trial, did only met once. The capital punishment verdict did even then surprise his lawyer, Hossein Ahmadi Niaz and all the centers and activists defending justice and Human Rights in Kurdistan and Iran.

The confirmation of the death penalty against this Kurdish political prisoner by “The Supreme Court”, is a proof of this truth that the Islamic Regime of Iran, after the latest nationwide unrest and especially the demonstrations, in order to intimidate the fed up people, since it has not stopped killing the arrested demonstrators under torture, want not to stop executing the political prisoners either.

We appeal to all the Human Rights activists and organizations all over the world to reply to Ramin Hossein Panahi’s family, Human Rights activists and organizations and political parties of East Kurdistan’s request.  We ask them urgently to condemn the confirmation of the death penalty against Ramin Hossein Panahi and to put pressure on the Iranian regime in this regard to stop the execution of this young Kurdish activist. At the same time we expect them to monitor closely the fate of those who were arrested by the oppressing Iranian authorities after the latest months’ demonstrations in Kurdistan, Khuzestan, Tehran and other Iranian cities, who risk to get killed under torture and face an uncertain fate. 

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all the civil rights organizations, courageous lawyers, Human Rights activists and the freedom loving mass media workers inside the country who have actively monitored the fate of Ramin Hossein Panahi and other civil rights and political prisoners in the Islamic regimes prisons.
